A Crawford County jury delivered their verdict in the case involving Frank Pintz and multiple counts of sexual assault. After a week long trial, Pintz was acquitted on all sexual assault charges.

One week before the state was to begin its case in a Rusk County court against Cherie Barnard, the state withdrew all charges.

Jury Acquits Man Of Sex Abuse Charges

Wisconsin State Journal :: Local :: B3

A Crawford County Wisconsin jury acquitted Frank J. Pintz on charges that he sexually abused a child.

The jury returned the verdict Friday following a five-day trial. Pintz, 65, of Eastman, had been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Pintz's attorney, Chris Van Wagner, credited the jury with being "able to focus on the evidence and set aside the emotion," he said.

Relatives of the alleged victim said trial delays -- postponed from August to January -- were difficult for the child.

Justice Is Finally Served

Frank Pintz's trial was delayed numerous times. The last delay was caused by yet another tactic of an unprepared DA when he filed a motion at the last minute without adequate notice to the defense. [See Wisconsin State Journal]
