Attorney Tracey A. Wood is among a handful of lawyers across the state of Wisconsin named to Super Lawyers of Wisconsin for 2007. Attorney Wood exclusively devotes her legal practice to defending people charged with (or convicted of) a criminal or drunk driving offense in the state of Wisconsin.
A native of Milwaukee, Attorney Tracey Wood is Wisconsin's first ever lawyer appointed to the Board of Regents for the National College for DUI Defense. She is also the first ever female, and the youngest member honored to serve as a regent. The NCDD is a progressive private college dedicated to training DUI defense lawyers across the U.S. how to defend their clients who have been arrested for driving under the influence. The college also contributes substantially to DUI law formation across the U.S.
Attorney Wood is president-elect of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, an organization formed more than ten years ago by and for criminal and DUI defense attorneys. WACDL promotes proper administration of criminal justice; fosters and maintains the integrity, independence and expertise of defense lawyers in criminal cases; and encourages an unyielding concern for the protection of individual rights and due process. Attorney Wood also served as legal counsel to WACDL.
Attorney Tracey Wood is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is a frequent guest speaker at national DUI defense conferences. She regularly conducts and facilitates seminars throughout the U.S. to further DUI defense lawyers expertise in the science of a DUI case and evidence.
Attorney Wood is also a member of the Dane County Bar Association. She is past president of Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
Attorney Tracey Wood authored Challenging Prior Operating While Intoxicated Convictions (published in Wisconsin Defender and available at her website, vanwagnerwood.com); she contributed to Drunk Driving Defense (Taylor & Oberman); and she is co-authoring Wisconsin DUI Defense - The Law & Practice.
